RDS Mission 

To educate and improve the care and treatment of individuals with skin-related problems related to rheumatologic diseases such as lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, systemic sclerosis, morpheavasculitis and other rare or orphan diseases.

To promote awareness of rheumatologic dermatology as a subspecialty and encourage future generations of dermatologists, clinicians, and investigators to pursue careers or conduct research in this unique field. 

To foster the spirit of collegiality and collaboration between different medical specialties and industry with the ultimate goals of providing comprehensive care and improving patient outcomes.

RDS was established in 2006 by a core group of dermatologists in order to provide physicians resources to better combat cutaneous rheumatologic diseases.

RDS Annual Meeting

RDS hosts a major Annual Meeting adjacent to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) meeting. The RDS Annual Meeting offers a comprehensive program of clinical updates, research presentations, and multidisciplinary discussions focused on the diagnosis and management of rheumatologic skin disease.
