Why Join RDS?

Our members are devoted to improving diagnosis and treatment of the skin manifestations of rheumatologic diseases. We offer professionals interested in joining our organization a means for collaborating and networking with other members and experts in this subspecialty. Members share information on diagnostics, patient management, clinical research and case presentations.

Active RDS members have exclusive online access to the most current research and clinical trials. Members communicate and share knowledge through:

Eligibility and Requirements

We offer four categories of memberships including Fellow Members, Trainee Members, Associate Members and Affiliate Members. Please review the membership requirements and RDS Application Form .

  • Fellow Members (Dues: $100 per year): Persons qualified for active membership are academic dermatologists, office- or hospital-based practicing dermatologists, and dermatological researchers who are certified by the American Board of Dermatology or have received specialty certification in dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or a comparable national organization and have an interest in the caring of patients with rheumatologic skin disease.
  • Trainee Members (Dues: FREE): Resident/Fellow Members. Persons qualified for resident/fellow membership are individuals who are currently enrolled in a dermatology residency or fellowship. Such membership is limited to three years.
  • Associate Members (Dues: $50 per year): Other physicians, physician trainees, and non-physician scientists having an interest in rheumatic skin disease. These members have access to non-physician RDS email listserv/announcements regarding clinical studies and patient management issues and have the option of attending the RDS annual scientific and clinical meeting.
  • Affiliate Members (Dues: FREE): Tax free organizations and non-physician individuals advocating for patients with rheumatologic skin disease. These members will have input into the patient awareness portion of the RDS website and will have the option of attending the RDS annual scientific and clinical meeting.

The RDS Membership and Nominating Committee will review applications and notify applicants regarding acceptance to our organization. Thank you for your interest.
